Unlike electronic pressure pumps and pressure tank units, garden pumps with safe-pump function do not have a pressure switch that switches the pump on when water is required.
Garden Pumps (Art. No. 1734 and Art. No. 1736) have a safe-pump function. The garden pump switches off by means of a flow sensor, e.g. when running dry or if the pump is not switched off manually after the water has been drawn. If the safe-pump function is enabled, the garden pump must be started again via the on/off button.
A minimum flow of 90 l/h is required to allow the flow sensor to detect water being drawn. When using a garden pump with safe-pump function and the Micro-Drip-System, the safe-pump function may respond depending on the nozzles/drip heads used.
Electronic Pressure Pumps (Art. No. 1757 / 1758 / 1759 / 1760 as well as older models) also have an electronic pressure switch, which starts the pump when water is being drawn and stops as soon as it is stopped.
As with garden pumps, a minimum flow of 90 l/h is required to allow the flow sensor to detect that water is being drawn. The dripping water warning is only built in for electronic pressure pumps. Electronic pressure pumps are usually installed permanently in or around a building. The dripping water warning switches the electronic pressure pump off if a leak is suspected on the pressure side (water extraction side).
