If your robotic lawnmower does not move to the programmed areas/remote start points, there may be various reasons for this. We would like to help you find out the cause of this malfunction and rectify it.
If the LED flashes yellow
Possible causes:
> The guide cable is not connected correctly to the charging station. Please check the connection terminal
> Connector between guide wire and boundary wire not properly installed.
> The guide wire is damaged. Please check the cable and/or re-route it.
If it is a SILENO/SILENO+, please proceed as follows:
If the LED lights up green but the robotic lawnmower cannot find its way into the areas with the help of the guide wire, this could still be due to a problem with the guide wire. To check this, please swap the connections between the guide wire and boundary wire AL or AR on the charging station.
If the LED now flashes blue, please check the following points:
> The guide cable is not correctly connected to the charging station. Please check the connection terminal
> Connector between guide wire and boundary wire not properly installed.
> The guide cable is damaged. Please check the cable and/or re-route it.
First of all, we would like to ask you to repeat the calibration run of the guide cable. Correct installation is a prerequisite for a successful calibration run:
> Please check that there is at least 2 meters of free space in front of the charging station. In addition, there must be at least 30 cm to the right and left of the charging station from the boundary cables (see sketch).
> Use the following sketch to check whether the distance between the boundary wire (B) and the starting point (A) on the guide wire is at least 60 cm. If the distance is less, the calibration process is aborted. To achieve the widest possible guide corridor, we recommend a distance (B) of at least 135 cm. Please note that the starting point (A) is set to 60 cm at the factory. If the charging station of your robotic lawnmower is located in a passageway, we would like to point out that the starting point (A) can be set to a maximum of 3m. You can find more detailed information on the starting point in the operating instructions.
> With regard to further installation in general, the distance between the boundary wires must not be less than the specified 60 cm. The minimum distance of 30 cm from the guide wire to the boundary wires must also be maintained.
> If you have marked out obstacles in your garden with the boundary wire, make sure that the guide wire does not cross the boundary wire (see sketch). In addition, the device should not hit any objects such as trees, large stones etc. during calibration. Otherwise the calibration run will be aborted.
If the listed requirements are met, we now ask you to start the calibration of the guide cable.
If you have a SILENO life/ city, proceed as follows:
- Call up the short info menu by pressing the menu button for 3 seconds
- Use the arrow buttons and the OK button to navigate through the menu structure: Advanced > Calibrate > Guide cable calibration
- Now place the device in the charging station
- Press the Start button to start the automatic calibration.
If you have a SILENO+, proceed as follows:
- Call up the Quick info menu by pressing the 0 button for 3 seconds.
- Then use the arrow button and the OK button to navigate through the menu structure: Advanced > Calibrate > Guide cable calibration
- Now place the device in the charging station
- Press the Start button to start the automatic calibration.
If calibration has been completed successfully, "Calibration completed" appears on the display of the robotic lawnmower. If this is the case for you, we would now like to ask you to check the area settings in the robotic lawnmower's menu to make sure they are correct. If the settings are correct, we recommend that you now check over a period of several days whether the desired areas are being approached and mowed.
If your robotic lawnmower aborts the calibration run of the guide wire despite the correct execution of points 1 to 4 or does not move to the programmed areas after a successfully completed calibration, please contact GARDENA Service. To speed up the process of finding a solution, please send us a video of the problem (failed calibration run/approach to an area is aborted) for a detailed analysis. Please note that the file size is limited to a maximum of 20 MB.
Note:
The robotic lawnmower does not cross a passage. Detailed information on the minimum passage width can be found in your operating instructions.
