One possible cause when starting up the pump is too little water in the pump.
Open all tapping points to fill the pump. Also remove the installation on the suction side so that no air in the pump prevents complete filling.
Fill the pump with the amount of water specified in the operating instructions.
Reconnect the pump to your installation on the suction side and leave the valves at the tapping point open.
Another possible cause is that air is being sucked in on the suction side of the pump (suction hose). This can lead to a reduced performance of the pump or that no water is sucked in.
You can check yourself whether your pump has a technical defect and is therefore not drawing in water as follows:
1. disconnect the pump from the power supply
2. remove everything on the suction side that does not belong to the pump
3. slowly fill the pump with water again
4. turn the rotary switch to the start position (only for older automatic domestic water systems)
5. the outlet of the hose on the outlet side must be open
6. hold this hose in the air
7. connect the pump to the power supply, attention: the device starts up
8. hold your flat hand on the suction nozzle of the pump. If the pump is working properly, it will suck in your hand after 10 - 30 seconds (you will feel a corresponding vacuum, which will get stronger and stronger).
If it sucks in your hand, the pump is probably OK and the fault could also be in the area of your suction installation.
Possible causes could be
1. suction side not vacuum-tight. The suction side must be completely airtight, even under negative pressure. (Normal hemp connections are not!). Hold the pressure hose on the outlet side in a bucket of water. If you keep seeing air bubbles, the intake side is clearly leaking.
2. suction filter is dirty. The suction filter in the well and possibly in the pump must be clean
3. non-return valve in the suction hose is stiff. The non-return valve must not be jammed.

If the hand is not sucked in, the device is not in order and should be checked by our service department.
