Environmentally friendly processing and production of our products is also important to us. This is one of the reasons why our German sites are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental management systems. In addition, as a Husqvarna Group company, Gardena is actively involved in the group-wide sustainability program "Sustainovate".
The RollUp hose box fulfills all legal requirements, e.g. any limit values and substance bans in accordance with Annex XVII of the European REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.
According to Art. 33 of the above-mentioned REACH regulation, we as GARDENA are subject to the information obligations towards our customers according to Art. 33, if a substance of very high concern (SVHC) is contained in a concentration above 0.1% by mass in an article supplied by us. The list of SVHC substances is updated twice a year and can be found on the website of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) at
https://echa.europa.eu/de/candidate-list-table
. The last extension took place on 19.01.2021. This so-called SVHC list also contains a large number of different regulated plasticizers such as DEHP. The plasticizers (so-called terephthalates) used by Gardena in the hoses are neither classified as hazardous according to current legislation nor are they subject to legal limits or an information obligation under REACH.
It goes without saying that we take these information obligations very seriously, also in the interests of our customers. For this reason, we would like to inform you that the wall conduit box contains a screw which, due to its material composition, contains a lead content of more than 0.1%. Lead has been identified by the ECHA as a so-called SVHC. If the hose box is used properly, this screw and its material composition do not pose any risk to humans or the environment.
