Please check the Power LED and Internet LED on the gateway. Both LEDs must be permanently green, if this is not the case follow the instructions in the FAQ "Gateway is offline".
If the LEDs on the gateway light up green, please open the GARDENA smart app, tap on the settings (gear icon) in the top right-hand corner of the app and go to "Garden profile". Call up the "Wi-Fi" item and follow the instructions for setting up the Wi-Fi.
If you still have difficulties, we recommend that you proceed as follows as an alternative:
To connect the gateway to an internet router via WLAN, the gateway must be assigned to a WLAN network via the gateway interface.
You can access the gateway interface as follows:
- Open the WLAN connections on your mobile device (smart phone, tablet)
- Search for the "GARDENA_Config"
- Connect to this network
- Enter the required Gateway ID digits. (The last eight digits)
- After successfully connecting to the gateway, open a web browser.
- Enter the IP 10.0.0.1 in the address bar (without www. or http etc. please just enter the IP address)
- The login window of the gateway interface will now open.
- Enter the administration password there. (The first eight characters of the gateway ID).
Have you already connected the gateway to your router via LAN cable?
Then please proceed as follows:
Option 1:
- Your mobile device (smart phone, tablet) is connected to the same internet network as the gateway.
- Open the web browser of the mobile device.
- Enter the IP of the gateway in the address bar. (without www. or http etc. Please only enter the IP address).
- You can find the IP of the gateway in the GARDENA smart app under "Settings"->"Garden profile".
- The login window of the gateway interface will now open.
- Enter the administration password there. (The first eight characters of the Gateway ID).
- Now select the desired Wi-Fi network.
- If necessary, enter the personal password of the WLAN network.
- Save the setting.
- Disconnect the gateway from the LAN cable.
- The gateway boots up for a moment.
- If the left and right LEDs of the gateway now light up green continuously, the connection was successful.
Option 2:
- Connect directly to your Internet router with your mobile device or computer.
- There you will find the connected gateway.
- Navigate to the gateway.
- The login window of the gateway interface will now open.
- Enter the administration password there. (The first eight characters of the gateway ID).
- Now select the desired WLAN network.
- If necessary, enter the personal password of the WLAN network.
- Save the setting.
- Disconnect the gateway from the LAN cable.
- The gateway boots up for a moment.
- If the left and right LEDs of the gateway now light up green continuously, the connection was successful.
If the WLAN setting is not accepted, please repeat the steps described.
