Check whether and which LEDs are lit on your gateway.
If the gateway is online, the left and right LEDs should light up green continuously.
If no LEDs are lit on the gateway, please check your power connection and your power supply unit. If the correct power supply unit is present and the power connection is functional, all individual components must be checked. Please contact GARDENA Service for this.
Power LED does not light up green permanently. First of all, please carry out a restart and check your power connection. If the Power LED does not light up after a restart and with a functioning power connection, please reset your Gateway to factory settings as follows:
- Connect the gateway to the internet router using the network cable
- Press and hold the reset button on the gateway.
- Now connect the gateway to the power supply unit.
- Wait until the right-hand power LED lights up yellow.
- Now release the reset button.
- The gateway will now reboot.
- Wait until the left Internet LED and the right Power LED light up green continuously.
- This process can take up to 15 minutes.
Internet LED (left LED) flashes red
First of all, please restart your gateway by unplugging it once and plugging it back in again. Then check whether your router is online.
If the Internet LED is still flashing red after a restart, please check the port releases on your router.
The smart gateway requires the following free outgoing ports on the internet router:
- Port 53 TCP & UDP (DNS)
- Port 67/68 UDP (DHCP)
- Port 123 TCP & UDP (NTP)
- Port 80 TCP (HTTP)
- Port 443 TCP (VPN)
The incoming ports can be blocked. If you are unable to configure your Internet router yourself, we recommend that you contact the router manufacturer or your Internet provider.
If the Internet LED is still flashing red after checking the ports, make sure that there is no interference from an intermediate device (repeater, switch, HUB or similar). We recommend that you connect the smart gateway directly to the main router once (without intermediate devices).
If the measures carried out so far have been unsuccessful, we recommend that you reset your gateway to the factory settings as follows:
- Connect the gateway to the internet router using the network cable
- Press and hold the reset button on the gateway.
- Now connect the gateway to the power supply.
- Wait until the right power LED lights up yellow.
- Now release the reset button.
- The gateway will now reboot.
- Wait until the left Internet LED and the right Power LED light up green continuously.
- This process can take up to 15 minutes.
Internet LED (left LED) lights up red
First of all, please restart your gateway by unplugging it once and plugging it in again. Then check whether your router is online.
If the Internet LED is still red after a restart, please check your connection to the Internet.
If you have connected your gateway to WLAN, see FAQ "Gateway cannot be connected via WLAN".
If you have connected your gateway via LAN, the following points may be the cause:
- Defect in the LAN cable
- Defect in the LAN connection used (on the router and/or gateway)
If the above points can be ruled out, we recommend that you reset your gateway to the factory settings as follows:
- Connect the gateway to the Internet router using the network cable
- Press and hold the reset button on the gateway.
- Now connect the gateway to the power supply unit.
- Wait until the right power LED lights up yellow.
- Now release the reset button.
- The gateway will now reboot.
- Wait until the left Internet LED and the right Power LED light up green continuously.
- This process can take up to 15 minutes.
If all 3 LEDs on your gateway light up at the same time, we recommend that you reset your gateway to the factory settings as follows:
- Connect the gateway to the internet router using the network cable
- Press and hold the reset button on the gateway.
- Now connect the gateway to the power supply.
- Wait until the right power LED lights up yellow.
- Now release the reset button.
- The gateway will now reboot.
- Wait until the left Internet LED and the right Power LED light up green continuously.
- This process can take up to 15 minutes.
Internet LED (left LED) lights up / flashes yellow
If the Internet LED lights up yellow continuously, the gateway is in the following state: The gateway is neither connected to the router via a LAN cable nor integrated into another WLAN network; in this case, the gateway automatically provides a configuration network approx. 1 to 2 minutes after start-up. The configuration network is activated as long as the Internet LED is permanently lit yellow.
Note:
The configuration network remains active for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes have elapsed (or if the gateway was previously configured to another WLAN that is no longer available), the configuration network can be reactivated by briefly pressing the reset button.
If the problem is still not resolved, please contact GARDENA Service.
